Hello, my name is Diane Shaline (AKA Di )
My love for cycling began in 1988 when I was inspired by all of IHBC
riders climbing Shalona Hill. Since that time, I have ridden the IHBC about
a dozen times (repeated oxygen deprivation has caused me to forget the exact number). I have also competed in several road and mountain bike races and have completed a number of tours.
Di finished 5th in her age group last year. |

Rich Fletcher became a cycling enthusiast in 2005 after two decades as a competitive sports car racer. Oddly, the two are quite similar. Preparation, safety, concentrated effort, racing in a group, pacing yourself and being very fit are essential at the top of both sports. Rich has raced to four national championships, and has coached racing professionally since 1994.
He is our lead instructor and coach. |

Justin Repath--has been riding bicycles since childhood. He discovered a true passion for cycling while in college - when he first tried cross country mountain biking. Since then, riding bicycles has expanded dramatically for him.
"It has influenced major life and health changes, from eating better to helping determine where I live".
My strongest core belief about cycling is that I need to keep it fun. Some things that help me to do this are proper training, taking on challenges, and a relaxed attitude about the sport. My cycling mantras are as follows: 1. Relax 2. Listen to yourself; to what your body is telling you. |

Ellen Stein--has ridden the Iron Horse 6 or times in the past 7 years and consider herself a strong recreational rider, dropping into a few fun mountain bike races in the past years (SSWC and the Hermosa Classic), but always as a way to challenge herself a little bit more and not as a super serious racer. The first several years of the IHBC, she started with the tour and am now riding in a race category and loving. Ellen did her first bike tour this year with participating in the Colorado Peace Ride and had a blast busting out our version of the Triple Bypass in the first day of the tour from Durango to Ouray! |

Patti Zink has been a volunteer for the Iron Horse since 1988. In 2005,
she decided it was time to ride to Silverton, knowing she would not be disciplined enough to train, she and her husband Ed began the training classes. Patti completed the IHBC in 2004 and 2005. Decreasing her time
in 2005 by 20 minutes as a result of the training classes. Patti is now a Lemond Revmaster Certified indoor cycling instructor and a certified Level 3 Cycling Coach with USA Cycling.
